Please note:

British Gymnastics are responsible for trampolining coaching courses. We do not run them, manage or monitor them, this page simply provides information & guidance in obtaining a qualification through British Gymnastics.

How old do I have to be to become a coach?

You can take the 'Assistant Club Coach' (level 1) qualification from the age of 14 (you must be 14 on the day of the course) which allows you to be qualified to assist a qualified coach from your 15th birthday.

You need to be 18 to take the Trampoline coach (level 2).

What are the different levels of coach?

How do I become a Coach?

You need to take a coaching qualification, starting at 'Trampoline Coach'. These are run by British Gymnastics throughout the year in each of their 10 regions. Find out when there is a coaching course in your area.

Coaching courses are made up of Practical examination, Common Core Theory, and Trampolining Specific Theory.

I am a teacher and I want to become qualified to teach PE in a school, how do I go about doing that?

You need a British Gymnastics Trampolining coaching qualification of at least Trampoline Coach Level (level 2). There is also a teachers qualification which is only for currently qualified PE teachers. Click here for more about the coaching qualifications...
